Sarah (sarah@howardimpact.com) has contributed to the ongoing success of mission-focused nonprofits for over a decade. She’s passionate about working toward a more just and inclusive society so that all people have an opportunity to thrive.
Sarah currently supports the operational side of the Asset Funders Network, a national nonprofit committed to advancing economic opportunity and prosperity for low and moderate income individuals -- bringing together private, public, corporate and community interests that invest in policies and programs to confront inequities.
And, with the recent fire seasons being the deadliest in the state’s history and fiercer fire seasons becoming the new normal, Sarah provides grant-making and grant management services for wildfire recovery and prevention efforts on behalf of the California Fire Foundation, a statewide nonprofit charged with assisting California’s firefighters and the communities they are sworn to protect.
Sarah also served on the fundraising and operations team for MomsRising, a national nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to tackling the most critical policy issues facing women, mothers and families. One such issue: child nutrition programs. That's why in 2015, she headed to our nation’s Capitol to testify in support of reauthorizing these critically-needed programs.
Sarah served in the United States Army for five years as a Medic, and in 2010, she founded the Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) Bettie Brigade, an all-female, military, roller derby league in Washington state.
